2009 NFL Week 7 Picks

Last week I went 7-7 and am now 46-44 on the season. My lock of the week, Jets, didn't cover or win; I'm now 4-2 with that pick. My survivor pick, Eagles, lost and I have no way of explaining why. I'm finished in that pool and won't make any more picks there. Thanks for nothing Eagles... I hope your Phillies lose.

1:00 PM Green Bay Packers (3-2)
-7.5
at Cleveland Browns (1-5)
The Packers have serious issues protecting Aaron Rodgers and they've really done nothing to warrant getting this many points.

1:00 PM San Diego Chargers (2-3)
-4.5
at Kansas City Chiefs (1-5)
The Chargers are not a good team and they just lost to the Broncos at home, that means you back them on the road. They are totally unpredictable and when they're down, they're up and when they're up, they're down.

1:00 PM at Houston Texans (3-3)
-3.5
San Francisco 49ers (3-2)
The Texans have a porous pass defense, but the 49ers can't exploit that. The Texans run defense has actually been good in their last 3 games. I think this game could be a blowout because if the Texans get on the board early, the 49ers will have no way of putting points on the board in a hurry.

1:00 PM Indianapolis Colts (5-0)
-13.5
at St. Louis Rams (0-6)
The Colts are on a roll and I don't see the Rams slowing them down. This one could get ugly.

1:00 PM at Pittsburgh Steelers (4-2)
-4.5
Minnesota Vikings (6-0)
The Vikings are due for a let down and now they're outdoors in Pittsburgh. Why can't the Steelers expose the Vikings defense just like the Ravens did?
*Lock of the week

1:00 PM New England Patriots (4-2)
-14.5
at Tampa Bay Buccaneers (0-6)
This game is in London, so weird things could happen. I think Belichick puts on another show and the Pats are back to rolling up chumps and knocking out suckers.

4:05 PM at Carolina Panthers (2-3)
-7.5
Buffalo Bills (2-4)
These two teams are close, so I'm going Bills. Ryan Fitzpatrick may be what the Bills needed. I think the Panthers will ram the ball down the Bills throat, but these teams are not good.

4:05 PM New York Jets (3-3)
-6.5
at Oakland Raiders (2-4)
The Jets have done nothing to deserve this big a line. Sanchez will be forced to make plays and I just can't back him right now.

4:15 PM at Cincinnati Bengals (4-2)
-1.5
Chicago Bears (3-2)
This game should really be the Bengals favored by 3. This Bengals team can do everything the Bears do, but better. Don't let me down Ochocinco.

4:15 PM at Dallas Cowboys (3-2)
-3.5
Atlanta Falcons (4-1)
This Cowboys team is the Chargers of the NFC, minus the explosive pass game... give me the Falcons.

4:15 PM New Orleans Saints (5-0)
-6.5
at Miami Dolphins (2-3)
The Dolphins can slow teams down (see the Colts game) and I really feel like the Saints are due for a down game.

8:20 PM at New York Giants (5-1)
-7.5
Arizona Cardinals (3-2)
The Cardinals don't have the weapons to do to the Giants what the Saints did. I'm going with the Giants because I just think they're the better team and I don't see the Cardinals defense being that good against the Giants pass game.

8:30 PM Philadelphia Eagles (3-2)
-7.5
at Washington Redskins (2-4)
The Eagles losing to the Raiders is awful and the Redskins are awful, but with his job on the line I give the Redskins a punchers chance. If Zorn loses this one, he might as well hire a kid that plays Madden to take over the play calling.
